PROJECT AMOUNT: €27,500,000, of which €21,709,592.35 for construction work alone
WORK DURATION: 500 days

To improve navigational safety in the Marghera Port industrial area, near the developing basins. Projects have been drawn up to modify and upgrade some of the banks of the port island as well as adjacent islands; The most notable of these is the "Sali Quay Restructuring" project , aimed at facilitating the entrance to the North Industrial Canal in preparation for the construction of the new cruise terminal.
The Sali Quay Restructuring project involves the construction of:

  • a new concrete diaphragm walled embankment for a total length of approximately 452 m, starting from the eponymous landfill site located to the northwest to the southeast thus, connecting with the existing Sali Quay. This will ensure a depth of -12 m for the adjacent North Industrial Canal, as well as a distributed displacement of 5 t/m2.

The construction of the embankment will require the demolition of several buildings and structures, particularly the "Monopoli-Tabacchi" complex. The eastern portion of this complex, known as Greggi-Botti, will require demolition of 7 of the 11 bays, rebuilding the structures, currently in a state of disrepair, and simultaneously carrying out an architectural redevelopment of the remaining area.
The subsequent phase, of excavation and land clearing in the eastern area of the new embankment, will be carried out together with the other interventions included by the Venice Cruise Commissioner pursuant to Legislative Decree 103/2021.
