Construction site details

The construction of a temporary mooring for cruise ships and the creation of a functional terminal for the management of passenger flow, involves carrying out both, civil works and the installation of systems, to which are added the functional adaptation works of a section of the networks white and black water sewers in the terminal, part of Via Banchina dell'Azoto.

570 metres (of which 360 metres can be temporarily used for cruise ships)

Type of works carried out:

Construction works to adapt the areas (new sewerage, demolition, flooring, new bollards, new fenders), preparation of areas for the management of passenger and baggage flows (boundaries, control stations, storage areas, vehicle and passenger routes)


 

Completed Projects

Works to improve the safety and functionality of the moorings and aprons, temporarily designated for cruise traffic, at the Lombardy and Liguria quays at Venice Port

The works involved the two temporary docking points in the Marghera area, also intended for passenger ships of gross weight equal to or greater than 25,000 GT, specifically the temporary berths of the Liguria and Lombardy quays, with the installation of an audible warning system, activated from the emergency management rooms, to cover the temporary berths of the Liguria and Lombardy docks, and, more generally, the four commercial terminals of Venice Port (Vecon, Terminal Rinfuse Venezia, Terminal Intermodale Venezia, Multi Service);

Works details

  • Preparation of the space to be used as an "Emergency Management Room";
  • Upgrade lighting of the aprons and exit routes leading to the indoor shelter;
  • Preparation of a space to be used as an "Indoor Shelter in Case of Emergency";
  • Upgrade the water network to a fire-fighting system by installing pumps integrated with a new water distribution network to be used exclusively for the cruise ship quay;
  • Repair the ISPS Code fencing along the western edge of the Lombardy quay;
  • Installation of an anti-pigeon netting system to protect the marquee inside Building 428;
  • Installation of canopies at the entrances to the "Box Scanner";
  • Installation of prefabricated boxes for the passport checkpoint
