Venice, 11 March – The first ship of the 2022 cruise season in Venice is moored at the Fusina Terminal.

With the arrival of the Viking Sky, the path towards the new cruise model in Venice begins – in compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree 103 of 1 August 2021 – implemented by the Special Commissioner Fulvio Lino Di Blasio, in charge of identifying and creating temporary moorings for cruise ships. By April / early May 2022 as per the work schedule, in addition to the Fusina Terminal which is part of the current capacity of the Port of Venice, the mooring points on the Lombardy quay – at the VECON terminal – and on the Liguria quay, will also be operational, at the TIV Terminal.

For both moorings – intended to accommodate cruise ships of gross tonnage equal to or greater than 25,000 GRT according to the provisions of Legislative Decree 103/2021 – whose executive projects were drawn up and approved last November by the Commission, which carried out the necessary tender procedures for the selection of companies – the infrastructural works are in fact being completed.
